Southern Spring Fashion Styles Part 1

How to Welcome Spring Fashion

As the weather gets warmer, the fashionsistas can make their transition from those dark winter colors into those happy shades of pastels. So, aside from just dawning lighter colors, what can you do to liven up your spring wardrobe and make a statement this spring? Here are some to the fashion styles for this spring, and some of the ones that I will be rockin’.

Leather

Do you think spring is too warm for leather? Think again. Spring-even in the South- still has some breezy days. So, what should you grab? I grab one of my favorite leather or faux leather blazers or jackets. They are comfortable, fashion-forward, and eye catching for spring. If you want to make them even more appealing, skip the black leather. Save the black for nights on the town or when you want to make a bold statement. Pull out the softer spring color leathers instead. I am personally purchasing a Dennis Basso faux leather jacket in a hot spring color this week. I will post a picture of my jacket at a later date.

White

White is one of the signature colors of spring and summer. White pants, capris, skirts, dresses, and shirts are all the way to go for warm weather. I love a snappy, white shirt to add a bit of class to my spring outfits.

Colors

Spring is alive with color. Although the bolder colors are usually saved for summer, they can also be worn during the spring. Add spice to those sweet pastels. Combine them with bolder colors. I love red. So, I add it to my spring look whenever possible. I can mix red with lighter colors like white, pink, sand, yellow, and turquois. Dazzling Blue-the color for spring 2014-is a bold color and can be mixed with pastels or even metallic colors. If you are going for the color of the year-Radiant Orchid-you can wear in several different ways. You can wear it with a richer purple. You can even combine it with cayenne or another pastel like Robin blue. Other colors that pop for me during springtime are lemon yellow, carination pink, peach, and green. These colors remind me of the beautiful spring flowers.

Western look

The South is famous for its downhome cowboys and cowgirls. Well, lucky for us, the western look is in this spring. I love to rock-out a pair of cowboy boots with a pretty spring dress or skirt.

Join fashionsistas everywhere this spring. Show off those great spring colors in your own fantastic style. I know I will.
